We are proud to present to our customers and friends our latest unchillfiltered release: The Celtic Whiskey Pod.
Our aim on our podcast is to bring you conversation with some of the people behind the very best drinks in the world. So, not just whiskey, if the product is good and the guest is interesting then we will consider it for the podcast.
In our first episode we talked to Kevin O’Gorman (Pictured) from Irish Distillers. Kevin is Master of Maturation but was also recently appointed to the lofty position of Master Distiller. In his new role one of his first tasks was to assemble the cask and blend the first bottle to bear his name the 2021 edition of Midleton Very Rare. We discuss the challenges of creating the whiskey, what he hopes to bring to his new role, how the pandemic has presented new difficulties, experimental whiskeys and much more.
Kevin was the perfect person to have as our first guest and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to his insights and thoughts on whiskey making at the Midleton Distillery.
In our second podcast we talk to a legend of whiskey making, Frank McHardy. Frank has had an amazing career that took him to many distilleries across Scotland before settling at Springbank in Campbeltown. He presided over what many would consider to be the golden years of Springbank through the 1970s and into the 1990s. A move to Bushmills saw him make some very interesting single malts including some double-distilled whiskey, peated whiskey and some experiments with crystal malt. He returned to Springbank before retiring where he was instrumental in setting up the Glen Gyle Distillery where Kilkerran single malt is made. As you can imagine this was a very interesting conversation and we could have talked for a lot longer about his journey through whisky.

In our third episode of the Celtic Whiskey Pod Al Higgins and Julie Christie chat to Graham Coull the Master Distiller at Dingle Distillery. Graham has a great story to tell with an interesting background in making whisky across the water in Scotland. But the lure of the Dingle penninsula proved too much and brought him to the top possition at one of Ireland's most exciting distilleries. We talk about the differences in making whiskey in the two countries, all the challenges the pandemic brings, the future of whiskey making at Dingle and much more.
